Also this year the Monumental Cemetery of the Certosa of Bologna becomes a magnificent open-air stage for a dense calendar of cultural events which, starting from June 18, will not only accompany the evenings of the summer season but will continue until November 3, to end symbolically with the celebration of the Feast of the Dead.
Every year, the summer calendar curated by the Civic Museum of the Risorgimento in Bologna is the culminating and most representative moment of the commitment for the protection, enhancement and promotion of the artistic and architectural heritage preserved in this monumental complex, considered among the most beautiful and important in Europe, which the Bologna Museums Institution carries out with the collaboration of Bologna Cemetery Services, in favor of ever wider accessibility for citizens and tourists.
There are over thirty evening events proposed in this twelfth edition of the review, whose schedule has been rethought with a specific attention to the integration between live experience and online offer. In addition to the traditional programming of itinerant shows, nocturnal themed walks and theatrical performances to discover the numerous masterpieces scattered along the porticoes and avenues of the Charterhouse, this year usable in presence in compliance with the security measures, the digital story continues with the cycle of pills La Storia #aportechiuse, started on 18 March following the suspension of the museum opening service for the epidemiological emergency COVID-19.
Live on Facebook the voices of various guests will alternate, at 8 pm on every Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, to present brief insights on events and illustrious and lesser-known figures of Bolognese art and history, which are intertwined with the history of this place of peace. Among the authors of the video contributions are also the artists and guides who will then be the protagonists of the events of the event.
There will also be live meetings with authors and writers of novels, guides, monographs related to the Charterhouse or their interventions to present readings designed specifically for the monumental cemetery.
The program is a work in progress: in addition to the appointments already published on the website www.museibologna.it/risorgimento, concerts, performances, conferences, visits, theatrical plays will be added in the coming days.
