The memory of Lucio Dalla will never fade, indeed, it is always alive, especially in his city, Bologna.
Last Saturday 10 July the mayor Virginio Merola inaugurated the new statue dedicated to the Bolognese singer-songwriter, loved by all, which enriches even more Piazza Cavour where it was placed.
“Piazza Cavour is the true Piazza Grande of the song, where his mother lived” wrote the councilor for culture Matteo Lepore in a note “there we will place the statue that depicts him sitting on a bench.”
The bronze sculpture is the work of the artist Antonello Paladino and was donated to the Municipality of Bologna by Lino Zaccanti, cousin and heir of Lucio Dalla who, linked to the artist by a particular relationship of affection, in addition to sharing with his cousins the he also wanted to pay a personal tribute to the memory of Lucio Dalla and to the city of Bologna and personally supervised the installation of the work approved by the Superintendency. Now the work becomes part of the heritage of the Municipality of Bologna which will ensure its conservation over the years.
