FROM BOLOGNA TO THE GREAT WAR, ON SHOW THE PHOTOGRAPHS OF PAOLO SENNI

"From Bologna to the Great War. Paolo Senni photojournalist", here is the new photographic exhibition at Palazzo d'Accursio.

Saturday, May 4 at 11 am, in the Manica Lunga of Palazzo d'Accursio, the exhibition "From Bologna to the Great War. Paolo Senni photojournalist" will be inaugurated, a selection of images taken by Paolo Senni (Rome 1872 – Bologna 1949), major artillery in the immediate rear of the First World War front and passionate photographer.

Speakers: the equal opportunities adviser Susanna Zaccaria, Mirtide Gavelli of the Civic Museum of the Risorgimento and the curators Paolo Senni Guidotti Magnani and Andrea Spicciarelli.

Furthermore the actress Tita Ruggeri will interpret some letters drawn from the rich correspondence between Barberina Guidotti Magnani and her husband Paolo Senni between 1915 and 1917; correspondence and photos also served to stage the theatrical performance "Retrovie", with the aim of making known and disseminating what women have accomplished to promote the peace process, staged on May 15th at 8.30 pm at the San Oratorio Filippo Neri.

The photographs on display document life in the rear in some of the main scenarios of military strategies during the war years: Mogliano Veneto, San Giovanni al Natisone (then San Giovanni di Manzano), Udine, but also the newly liberated city of Gorizia and the trenches on the Isonzo, as well as some Friulian villages hit by Austrian bombing.
The entire photographic collection of Paolo Senni, composed of 504 images, can now be freely consulted in the Digital Collections section of the World War I scenario of the site www.storiaememoriadibologna.it created by the Civic Museum of the Risorgimento.

The exhibition, freely visible every day from 10 am to 7 pm, from 4 to 19 May, is carried out by the Equal Opportunities Office, protection of differences, contrasting gender violence in the Municipality, Civic Museum of the Risorgimento, Bologna Museums Institution, Archive Foundation Guidotti Magnani and Association of Peace Tracks in the wake of the cultural and educational initiatives carried out in 2018 with the project "1918 year of peace. Written words, recited words, images from the back".

NEW TIMES AND NEW RATES FOR BOLOGNA MUSEUMS: HERE'S ALL THE NEWS

Two resolutions have been approved which update the methods of access and the tariff of the permanent collections of civic museums.

These are new provisions that increase the opportunities for free and the extension of opening hours, taking into account the diversified demand of metropolitan citizens, tourists, students and new publics and which for the first time widen the free ticket for kindergarten teachers and to the nursery school educators of the Municipality of Bologna.

The Bologna Museums Institution thus adheres to the new address launched by the Ministry for Cultural Heritage and Activities (Decree No. 13 of 9 January 2019), to encourage museum use with a new system of subsidies based on flexible forms of gratuity, discretely calibrated to the needs of the individual places of culture.

Here are all the new features:

for the period from April to September, characterized by a greater influx of visitors from out of town, the new free access time slot opens in the last two hours of opening every Thursday. The timetable extends from 20 to 22 at MAMbo; from 4 to 6 pm at the Archaeological Civic Museum; from 4.30pm to 6.30pm at the Medieval Civic Museum, the Municipal Art Collections and the International Museum and Music Library.
from Sunday 7 April the Davia Bargellini Museum which, also due to the increase in visitors, postpones the closure on weekday days by one hour, thus remaining open until 14, for a total increase of 4 hours on a weekly basis, while they remain unchanged the provisions on opening hours on Saturdays, Sundays and midweek holidays, from 10am to 6.30pm and permanent free entry.
in 2019 the Open Day arrives with free admission with the possibility for everyone to leave a free offer in support of the Institution. A day, or a weekend, with open doors to experience and rediscover the beauty of the historical and artistic heritage preserved in the 14 seats of the civic museum system, which will welcome the public with guided tours, workshops for children and special initiatives.
from 1 May 2019, free entry extends for the first time to nursery school teachers and nursery school educators of the Municipality of Bologna.
from May 1, 2019, entry is reduced to 2 euros for young people between 18 and 25 years old. University students with a card will also be able to enter for free, regardless of the degree course, post-graduate specialization and research doctorate.
from May 1, 2019, the full-price entrance to the three Civic Archaeological Museum, the Medieval Civic Museum and the Municipal Art Collections is in line with the one in force at MAMbo and becomes 6 euros.

AT PALAZZO RE ENZO TWO DAYS SUSTAINABLE

April 13th and 14th in the splendid setting of Palazzo Re Enzo.

So far our way of dressing has been a matter of culture, pleasure, identity. From now on it is also a question of SUSTAINABILITY.

Changing clothes is a concrete way to fight against environmental unsustainability, climate change (the clothing industry is the second world polluter), the exploitation of workers, migrations caused by insufficient wages ...

RIVESTITI-TERRA EQUA (at the eighth edition, an average of 15,000 visitors each year) is an opportunity to meet producers and craftsmen who combine quality, originality and aesthetics with respect for environmental and social criteria.

A better world is also achieved by choosing what we wear, and RIVESTITI-TERRA EQUA shows that it is possible to do so even by changing the shirt.

An opportunity to see, touch, learn, meet, have fun, with workshops for young people too.

Free admission
